So I now wanted to take a little bit to share what I've personally learned and enjoyed at since the Prestige Update landed until today. It added a unique twist to many commanders and shuffled around the most powerful commander tier list. This update not only added a ton of replayability to co-op but gave us all a reason to re-level our favorite commanders and try new ones! From my perspective a LONG time lurker of this sub, this patch energized our community like no other. Speaking of that, this end of life announcement was especially painful for us, because just three months before, we recieved the BEST co-op content update to Starcraft II yet: The Prestige Update included in the 5.0 patch. Monk, who had joined the SC2 team 2.5 years earlier, designed quite a few things we enjoy such as Mengsk, and of course Prestiges! Not surprisingly, shortly afterwards the Starcraft II Lead Co-Op Designer Kevin "Monk" Dong left to join other ex-Blizzard employees at the newly founded Frost Giant Studios. One year ago on October 15, 2020, Blizzard announced Starcraft 2 would no longer recieve content updates. Lets quickly review this past year and then celebrate all the fun we've had since 5.0! Mutations add special modifiers to Co-op Missions, rewarding bonus experience. It is a two player cooperative mode with campaign-style objectives.
